The Big Horse Shop was founded in 2009 by passionate horse lovers and heavy horse owners. We started the business out of frustration with the lack of properly fitting rugs for our heavy horses.

Unable to find suitable options on the market, we decided to design our own.

We began by taking precise measurements of our horses and other heavy horses we encountered. This led to the creation of the Epic Broad Fit size chart, specifically tailored for heavy horses and ponies. We launched our first range of rugs in 2010.

The company has since grown, expanding its range to include products for light to medium-weight horses and ponies, as well as a line of high-performance equestrian riding clothing for women.

We now design and manufacture heavy horse rugs, boots, and accessories specifically tailored for heavy horses and ponies. Our products are designed in-house by heavy horse owners, ensuring quality, comfort, and functionality.
